WMC is an extended version of Warcraft III Mouse Capture.
It allows you to lock the mouse within a specified window (not just limited to Warcraft III).
The primary use of this program is to have a game (in window mode) on one monitor and applications such as IM and internet browser on another.
Without WMC if you move your mouse to the edge of the screen while playing your game, your mouse will just leave the game. You wont be able to aim!

- Only one message box appears when WMC is already running
- Changed update check frequency to once every 24 hours

question: I am trying to write a .bat file that opens and closes this with wc3. For some reason, taskkill is not recognizing the application by name or process id, even tho 'tasklist' displays the process
how do u put WC3 in window mode??
Great work VT. I started playing in window mode and this is exactly what I needed.
Excellent program.
Keep up the good work.
I've been having trouble getting it to select the game window I'm using. Specifically, on a game called Mount & Blade. On a different computer, at work, I got it to select the window, but then it wouldn't enter capture mode. Any ideas?
Would you mind releasing source to your programs?
i love you. no gay.
thanks alot bro.
going to spread this awesomeness around.
Can you add a feature to lock the mouse to a single monitor?
This way it would also be useful for when watching a video on a second display and wanting to prevent the mouse from going off of the primary monitor.
Thanks.
It is extremely useful programme while playing not WC3 but other games, however W3MC does not compatible with Windows 7. Is bugfixed version will be released?
Thank you for this great utility.
Ye i used this for 4 years.... Was probably the best little program i've downloaded...
However same issues here with Windows 7 now, won't lock to the window.
Ive tried turning to classic look, altering window behaviour. all sorts with no joy :(
Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and it works perfect for me.
Try running it with admin privileges and Aero turned off.
I've most certainly tried all of that - still does not work.
Running WC3 TFT as Admin, WMC as Admin.
Then turning off all aero, even turning off all settings for display and setting to performance only
-Win+PauseBreak
--Adv Sys Setting
---Adv (tab)
----Performance - (Settings)
etc etc. It was the first thing i tried due to Aero altering things.
I've also tried altering the properties under compatibility to disable aero (by ticking "disable desktop composition").
Also tried Vista compatibility mode, XP etc etc
I've disabled Aero Peek from the taskbar properties as well.
I'm not new to Windows O/S's, been using them for 15 years. It is 110% not as simple as disabling Aero and running as Admin.
I even have UAC disabled so i never have any issues with Admin as i am the Admin of the PC
Ok got it working.
You need to alter the shortcut of WC3 s follows:
Right click the shortcut
-Properties
--Compatibility
Then tick
"disable desktop composition"
After that you can run WC3 and WMC.
However there is one extra thing you ned to do.
It is the same thing as disabling Aero, however it reverts back to normal system once you close WMC/WC3 :)
LAST STEP to get it working
You need to right click WMC icon on the sys tray and manually specify the WC3 window for the first time.
I have no idea why, but after that it will work just by hitting F7.
Simply loading WC3 & WMC and pressing F7 does not work the first time.
The "LAST STEP" might need to be repeated after a reboot perhaps.
Hope this helps people.
SetWindowsHookEx failed...how to fix this, pop up when i want to specify window...
btw, my .net is 3.5 aand im suign windows xp home edition
